We calibrate environmental sensors, at our Christchurch laboratory, using reference instruments that are themselves calibrated to traceable standards by an independent organization.

Here are the calibrations we can carry out. In each case we produce a calibration certificate showing how the sensor performed against the reference.

Pressure sensors

We can calibrate pressure sensors in the ranges 0-10, 0-20 and 0-70 meters of water. We compare the 'sensor under test' against a quartz crystal or deadweight reference.

Dissolved Oxygen

We provide two-point calibrations at 0% and at approximately 100%.

Turbidity

We provide turbidity calibrations in Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTU) using formazin standards. The standards can be prepared for any specific points or ranges and we compare these against our laboratory reference.

Electrical Conductivity

We provide EC calibrations within various ranges between 0 and 32,500 micro Siemens per centimetre (uSi/cm) using KCl standards compared against a Radiometer reference.

Temperature

We carry out temperature calibration, in our controlled environment chamber, usually between -10 and +50 degC, using a PRT100 temperature reference.

Humidity

We carry out four-point ( 11.3, 33.2, 75.4 and 97.7%) humidity calibrations using salt standards in temperature-controlled chambers.

pH

We carry out three-point pH calibrations (4.0, 7.0 and 10.0 pH) using buffer references.
