This issue features an introduction to Aleki Taumoepoe, Aquatic Biology Technician with expertise in freshwater biosecurity and aquatic plant ecology. We report on a recent research visit to the Ha'apai Islands in Tonga, focused on assessing recovery progress following the 2022 Hunga Tonga–Hunga Ha’apai eruption and tsunami. This issue also includes a regional ocean acidification workshop and a summary of the Adaptation Futures Conference, the largest climate-focused event held in New Zealand.
