The nationwide outlook for soil moisture levels and river flows over the summer.
River flows are likely to be below normal in the north and east of both Islands, and normal or below normal in the south and west of both islands.
Soil moisture is likely to be below normal in the east of the South Island, normal in the south and west of both islands, and normal or below normal elsewhere.
