August's climate: South Pacific Convergence Zone extended from Papua New Guinea to the south of Tuvalu. Well above average rainfall in parts of New Caledonia and central French Polynesia; below average rainfall in the northern Cook Islands and northern New Zealand.

August's climate: South Pacific Convergence Zone extended from Papua New Guinea to the south of Tuvalu. Well above average rainfall in parts of New Caledonia and central French Polynesia; below average rainfall in the northern Cook Islands and northern New Zealand. Above average temperatures in Western Kiribati, Tuvalu, Samoa, and northern French Polynesia; below average in parts of Vanuatu, southern French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Fiji, and New Caledonia.

ENSO and sea surface temperatures (SST): Tropical Pacific continues in a neutral El Niño/Southern Oscillation state.
