NIWA PhD student Trevyn Toone deploying harvested mussels for restoration. These mussels were harvested from a mussel farm owned by local marine farmer, Simon Poole of Just Mussels in Elaine Bay. They pulled 5 tonnes from the Poole farm to deploy in various intertidal zone to test if the mussels will recover in shallower water around the Kenepuru Sounds.
