Telopathes

NIWA DTIS camera, Vulnerable Deep-Sea Communities Program
This beautiful black coral from genus Telopathes sp. was discovered recently on Diabolical Seamount in the Graveyard Seamount Complex at ~1000 m. It can be distinguished from similar genus Bathypathes by the branching of the main stem.
