Chris was runner up in this category for two outstanding contributions to fisheries stock assessment theory and delivery, solving a long-standing research conundrum by creating a method of dealing with conflicting fisheries data, and designing the concepts and mathematical models used in NIWA’s stock assessment programme, CASAL.
