This stauromedusan, or stalked jellyfish, is about the size of a thumbnail. Photographed on brown kelp in the Taputeranga Marine Reserve near Wellington and tentatively identified as Kishinouyea cf. nagatensis (Oka, 1897), a Japanese species. Credit: Sheryl Miller
