The lion’s mane jellyfish, Cyanea rosea Quoy & Gaimard, 1824 is a scyphozoan jellyfish (Cnidaria, Scyphozoa). This common jelly is found around the entire coast of New Zealand, from bay and harbours to the open ocean, and has even been seen as far south as Campbell Island.
