This image shows altocumulus in the centre and cirrus in the background. Altocumulus occurs in waves or rounded patches between 2000m and 6000m above ground level. Cirrus clouds are made of ice crystals cirrus clouds and are usually found at altitudes of 5000m or more in New Zealand. Photo taken by Alan Blacklock in 2007.
