Review of water resources, March-June 2009

Maps of River flows, Lake Levels, Water Temperature and Water Clarity for March-June 2009.

River flows Flows over autumn were below normal for most of the North Island. Most of Northland and central and south-eastern South Island had above normal flows. Elsewhere flows were normal.

Water Temperature Water temperatures were near normal for the season over much of the country, above than normal in the southeast of South Island.

Water Clarity Rivers tended to be visually clearer than usual over much of the North Island, with unusually clear conditions in some rivers. Rivers were turbid in the southeast of the South Island, reflecting high flows there.
