A set of five maps displaying some of our new climate change projections for New Zealand. The projections are based on statistical downscaling by Brett Mullan of global climate model runs done for the 4th Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (2007).
The maps show the 12-model average projection for the A1B scenario (a mid-range greenhouse gas emission scenario) for the following:
1. change in mean annual temperature in deg C by about middle of this century
2. change in mean annual temperature in deg C by end of this century
3. % change in mean annual precipitation by about middle of this century
4. % change in mean annual precipitation by end of this century
5. % change in mean precipitation by season (four panels show winter, spring, summer, autumn) by end of this century.
