Five scenarios of New Zealand-wide sea-level rise projections recommended in the Ministry for the Environment’s 2024 coastal guidance, based on the IPCC 6th Assessment Report, based on Naish et al. 2024. Measurements up to 2020 are from: Auckland, Moturiki, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and New Plymouth. Sea level height is relative to the average mean sea level over the recent period 1995–2014, which IPCC use as a zero baseline for projections.
