The all-sky image shows a hemispheric view of the sky at Lauder.
The band extending from the center of the image to the edge shields the camera from the direct sun which would otherwise cause blooming on the image and obscure the details of the clouds. These images record the cloud cover at Lauder for use in the atmospheric radiation research. Post-processing of the images is used to determine cloud cover, area to edge ratios, and so on. The images are updated every 10 minutes and an archive image is available for each of the last 24 hours.
Please note: The all-sky imaging system is currently offline while we transition to a new system. These images were current to 11:30am 28/05/2024.
