South Drygalski Sea Ice Camp

This camp was located on thin sea ice enabling measurements of melting processes in the ice to the south of the giant Drygalski Ice Tongue - the last giant floating glacier in Antarctica. The rapidly changing sea ice can only be safely observed with helicopter support - this sea ice rapidly disintegrated a few weeks after the camp was removed.
