Checking an Italian weather station on 1000m high Mount Abbott - the extreme winds that flow off the polar plateau and drive the coastal ocean are captured in this kind of monitoring site. What the image doesn't manage to convey was the "excitement" when we departed the station and dropped 500 m down the sheer face of the mount. Photo taken by Craig Stevens in January 2012.
