Marine Biodiversity: exploration & discovery – fitting the pieces together
New Zealand has the fourth largest EEZ in the world and our marine habitat ranges from subtropical to subantarctic. More than 13,000 different species have been identified in this area, only about 20% of the likely total. This poster defines biodiversity and shows some of the variety to be found in New Zealand waters.
