Antarctic toothfish catch depths

NIWA

Antarctic toothfish have been caught in the Ross Sea region fishery on the sea floor at depths of 279 – 2,210 m, with highest catches typically from 1,000 to 1,600 m. There is a strong relationship between Antarctic toothfish length and bottom depth – larger fish tend to live deeper.
