My main research interests are the global biogeochemical cycles of methane and other greenhouse gases. I am using concentration measurements and isotopic analyses to find the processes leading to shifts in the atmospheric burden of these trace gases. This research ranges from gas analyses in ice samples to study natural budgets and climate cycles back to the ice ages, to data from NIWA’s clean air monitoring stations that capture the recent trends and variability that drive anthropogenic climate change.
