NIWA welcomes new forecaster

NIWA is pleased to welcome a new face (and voice) for Niwa Weather, Chris Brandolino, who has joined us as Forecaster.

Chris comes from Syracuse, New York, where for the past 16 years he has been a television weather meteorologist. He also spent four years as a co-host of a morning television talk show on WSYR-TV in Syracuse.

Chris is a highly experienced meteorologist. He studied at the State University of New York, and has worked on television in the US and at the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. He also holds the American Meteorological Society’s qualification of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist.  

He may be new to New Zealand, but Chris brings a wealth of knowledge to NIWA. 

With Chris on board, we have also started a Niwa Weather Twitter account where he will be posting weather outlooks and climate updates, and generally engaging on all things weather!
