The Dairying and Clean Streams Accord is an agreement between Fonterra Co-operative Group, regional councils, the Ministry for the Environment, and the Ministry of Primary Industries that focuses on reducing the impacts of dairying on the quality of New Zealand streams, rivers, lakes, ground water and wetlands. Some of the performance targets include: Dairy cattle excluded from 90% by 2012; 90% of regionally significant wetlands to be fenced by 2007 and 90% of regular crossing points have bridges or culverts by 2012.
