Initial “minimum realistic model” results for toothfish fishery’s effect on toothfish prey

NIWA

Initial “minimum realistic model” results for the toothfish fishery’s effect on toothfish prey. The results suggest that as toothfish numbers decrease, grenadier (a prey species) biomass will increase and icefish (another prey species) biomass will increase greatly. This is due to the different productivity rates of the two prey species.
