Management of the Toothfish Fishery

NIWA fisheries scientist Dr Stuart Hanchet explains what makes the Antarctic toothfish fishery one of the best managed fisheries in the world.

A large scale tagging programme has been particularly instrumental in helping us monitor the fishery. He discusses how we are resolving the uncertainties remaining over the biology and life cycle of Antarctic toothfish, and impacts on other species.
