Flower heads are open or have a cluster 10 mm or more in diameter.
- Left: stems are bright green, and capsules 2 mm or less long. Found in damp pasture or swamp margins. Juncus edgariae. [PDF 451 KB]
- Right: stems are not bright green, and capsules are 2-3.5 mm long.
