NIWA is the host institute of the 13th International Deep-sea Biology Symposium being held in Wellington from the 3rd to 7th December.
The symposium provides the opportunity for members of the international deep-sea science community to discuss and present their latest research results.
NIWA is sponsoring the Geosciences Society annual conference being held in Hamilton on the 25th to 28th November.
The conference will showcase the broad range of geological and geophysical research that is being undertaken in New Zealand and abroad.
The New Zealand Petroluem Summit 2012 will be held in Wellington on September 19-20. The principal sponsor is New Zealand Petroleum & Minerals.
This conference will discuss the key regulatory, commercial, environmental, policy and stakeholder issues that exist today and help attendees plan their course into the near term.
NIWA is hosting the New Zealand eScience Infrastructure (NeSI) Roadshow at its Wellington site on Wednesday 12 September.
The day will include a number of sessions focusing on different aspects of how NeSI supports researchers with national High Performance Computing (HPC) facilities. The overview session in the morning will include information on what NeSI provides and how to access these services. Followed by interactive sessions with reseachers, showing how things actually operate. Including a tour of the FitzRoy HPC Facility.
The NIWA Auckland Science and Technology Fair will take place at the Fickling Centre, 546 Mt Albert Road, Three Kings.
Prizegiving takes place Monday 10th September, 7:30-8:00 pm at King's School Hall.
Public viewing of the entries is on Friday 31st August 5-8pm.

The NIWA Bay of Plenty Science and Technology fair will take place at Rotorua Convention Centre, Fenton Street Rotorua.
Prizegiving takes place at the same venue on Friday 16th August at 1pm.
Public viewing of the entries is on Thursday 30th August 1 - 6pm and Friday 31st 8am - 1pm.
