The Fertilizer and Lime Research Centre hosts annual workshops which are conducted on a topic of importance to the New Zealand land-based industries. The workshops are of relevance to scientists, researchers, fertiliser industry representatives, producer boards, agricultural and horticultural consultants, progressive farmers, Government policy analysts and local and regional authorities who are concerned with primary production in New Zealand.

This year’s conference theme “Water: The Blue Gold” touches on issues such as the value of water, managing the modern day gold rush for water allocation and changing water uses.

In November this year, the New Zealand Geothermal Workshop and the Geoscience Society of New Zealand are holding a joint conference in Auckland showcasing the latest and best in New Zealand geoscience research, geothermal science, and geothermal engineering. The meeting will include an overlap day with the annual meeting of the New Zealand branch of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, AusIMM.
The theme for the meeting is "Research · Economy · Frontiers"
