Climate Update is a summary each month of New Zealand's climate, including soil moisture and river flows.

February’s climate: Exceptionally wet with devastating floods in the North Island. Cool and windy conditions in many areas.

February’s river flows: Record high river flows.

Soil moisture levels: Saturated soils in the north and west.

Three month outlook: Wetter than average conditions may occur in western areas, with below average temperatures likely in the west and south.
