Climate Update is a summary each month of New Zealand's climate, including soil moisture and river flows.

April’s climate: Some very dry condtions in the east of the country were alleviated by April rains.

April’s river flows: Mostly below normal streamflows in April.

Soil moisture levels: End of month rainfalls relieve dry soils.

Three month outlook: Normal or above normal temperatures are expected over much of the country for the next three months.
